The Services Trades Industry Fund has taken the initiative of leading the Services Industry to a new way of training. STIF has financed the construction of building an E-Learning Platform, to deliver the Certificate II in Asset Maintenance which is a BSA Fire Occupational Licensing requirement by January 2011. The BSA Fire Occupational Licensing system was implemented from 1 January 2009, in the first instance as a voluntary licensing regime. After 1 January 2011, the system becomes mandatory such that any person working in the Fire Protection disciplines covered by the legislation must hold the appropriate licence type.
The system will include Core modules and Elective modules and all modules will comply with the AQF standards.

This way of training will allow the participants to work at their own pace at the convenience of their own home, once again giving the course participant flexible training.

The Cert II in Asset Maintenance E-Learning program will be operational in the near future.
